Concert: Multi-Cultural Salute to Black History Month: An Afternoon of World Premieres – Jazz, Concert and Jazz-Influenced Concert Musics (Series Event #1), Music by Eight LiCA members to be performed. (Works by Fourteen LICA member/composers are represented in this 4 event series). This concert will feature performances by vocalists Tara Nova, Natalya Simone and TOMOKO, pianists Paul Hefner, Rob Schwimmer and Jay Anthony Gach, saxophonist/flutist/vocalist Cecilia Tenconi, bassist Wilbur Bascomb, drummer Victor Jones, and the South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation African Drum Ensemble “The DrUUmatics.” Immediately following the concert the SNUUC Art Committee will open a themed exhibit featuring Young Black Artists, coinciding with a meet the musicians and artists reception.
